Kim Edwards is the author of the # 1 international bestseller The Memory Keeper’s Daughter, which spent 122 weeks on the New York Times best seller list, was chosen as Book of the Year by USA Today, and which was made into an Emmy-nominated film. Edwards’ other books are the bestselling novel, The Lake of Dreams, an Independent Booksellers pick, as well as a critically acclaimed collection of stories, The Secrets of a Fire King. Her stories have appeared in many periodicals, including The Paris Review, Story, Ploughshares, and Zoetrope. Her awards include a Pushcart Prize, the National Magazine Award, the Nelson Algren Award, and inclusion in both The Best American Short Stories and the Symphony Space program ‘Selected Shorts.’ Kim Edwards is also the recipient of a Whiting Writers’ Award and the British Book award, as well as grants from the Pennsylvania and Kentucky Arts Councils, the Kentucky Foundation for Women, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
